Starting a new career can be daunting, especially when it’s in a completely different industry. But for Albert Aldahawi, better known as Albie, the transition from professional wrestler to successful businessman and entrepreneur in the catering industry was natural. Known for his career in the ring as a professional wrestler, Albie is now taking the catering world by storm and cementing his position as one of Australia’s most influential business owners.

A multi-faceted individual, one of Albie’s most notable accomplishments is his work in the catering industry. Along with his business partner Steve Sidd, Albie is the director of Catering HQ, which boasts 11 venues and employs over 300 staff in Australia. In 2022, the duo started Catering HQ Logistics and is now working on creating a retail range within the company, providing high-quality, value meals to customers.

Away from catering, Albie has also made a name for himself as a successful entrepreneur in the fragrance industry. To date, his ALBIE fragrance has sold over 96,000 bottles through Men’s Health Magazine Australia and Albieshop.com. Albie successfully exited the company, selling the rights to the Albie perfume brand to City Perfume Australia for 1.6 million AUD.

Albie’s background in wrestling also adds to his accomplished career. He was the Australian Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champion for 11 months, and he has aspirations of winning another championship. He has also been featured in shoots with brands such as Nike and Levi’s.

In addition to his personal achievements, Albie also gives back to his community. He has donated over $25,000 worth of gifts/toys and money to local charities and held charity wrestling shows to raise funds for the local community and church. This is a cause dear to his heart because he was someone in need for many years in his childhood.

Albie’s story begins when he arrived in Australia as a refugee on a small fishing boat lost at sea when he was just a child. Growing up as an asylum seeker with nothing, Albie didn’t have the easiest start in life. Among the many challenges growing up without money or resources brings, he also had to deal with blatant racism, with many people doubting what he could or couldn’t do because of his Middle Eastern background. As a refugee who couldn’t speak English very well, few people dreamed he could scale the heights and achieve any of what he has.

Despite the odds being stacked against him, Albie never lost sight of the big picture. His steady rise to the top exemplifies determination, persistence, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Today, he has accomplished many things and become a successful person within his community, and that’s just the beginning of the heights he hopes to scale.

“You can do whatever you put your mind to no matter where you come from or what your background is,” Albie encourages anyone who feels limited by their circumstances. “Hard work and determination can unlock any door.”

In the future, Albie sees his catering company growing even more and is already working on new projects, such as a new fragrance for his Albie collection. He also plans to win another championship with a wrestling company in Australia and expand his empire. Having come this far, the sky’s the limit to what Albie can do.
