Despite its almost academic title, Reflections-Bolshoi Ballet Partnership — the latest event from the folks who brought us Kings of the Dance and Diana Vishneva: Beauty in Motion — is another star-studded showcase, this time spotlighting a septet of Bolshoi-trained ballerinas who may not be household names but walk the ballet world's red carpets. Maria Kochetkova stars at San Francisco Ballet; Polina Semionova (pictured) at Berlin Staatsoper Ballet; Olga Malinovskaya at Ballet Estonia; and Yekaterina Krysanova, Yekaterina Shipulina and Anastasia Stashkevich reign at the Bolshoi along with a personal favorite, Natalia Osipova, who divides her time between the Bolshoi and American Ballet Theater. The septet of choreographers staging new works for this roster includes Karole Armitage, Jorma Elo, Lucinda Childs and Mauro Bigonzetti. Four Bolshoi danseurs — Alexander Volchkov, Vyacheslav Lopatin, Danis Savin and Ivan Vasiliev — join in the new works and some established excerpts from Nacho Duato and George Balanchine.
