Bloggers armed with spatulas and baking mitts will take hunger into their own hands next Saturday. Following December's successful blogger bake sale spearheaded by two local bloggers, close to 50 kitchen savvy Angelenos will be cooking up a storm to help those in need next week at Morel's Steakhouse.

The bake sale, organized by blogger Gaby Dalkin, will not strictly be confined to Morel's outdoor patio, but will be part of a larger project. Food bloggers across the country will be simultaneously icing cakes and shuffling apple tarts on April 17 with all profits going to Share Our Strengths, an organization that brings together community groups, activists and food programs to help combat childhood hunger. From Alaska to North Carolina, bloggers will be putting their keyboard tapping fingers to do good and satiate appetites.

The weekend bake sale will include bloggers Picky Palate, Fujimama, and Matt Bites, to name a few.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffins from WhatsGabyCooking and Chai Bars from Savour Fare will be in plenty supply. Readers will have the chance to break that pesky digitalized fourth wall and taste their favorite blogger's Lemon Curd Tart or discover a new spin on Hazelnut Cappuccino Biscotti.

National Food Bloggers Bake Sale, on Saturday April 17th, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Morel's French Steakhouse and Bistro, The Grove: 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles.
