As we are on the cusp of the major television networks finalizing their fall schedules, no renewal has resulted in quite so many fervently relieved fans as that of Fringe. Fox's supernatural drama just ended its third season on Fridays — long touted as a death slot on the network that has gained a reputation for allowing beloved cult favorites to expire on the night many viewers are away from their sets. Yet network brass greenlit a fourth season and swear that they have faith in the show and its DVR numbers, so we may yet get to see the brilliantly complex alternate-universe arc deliver on its promise. (And the amazingly underrated cast finally pick up the kudos they deserve.) At Thursday's An Evening With Fringe Paley event, series creator J.J. Abrams will be on hand along with principal cast members Anna Torv, John Noble and Joshua Jackson for a Q&A following the screening. Paley Center for Media, 465 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills; Thurs., May 19, 7 p.m.; $7 (closed-circuit viewing in adjacent auditorium; main room is sold out.) (310) 786-1091; paleycenter.org.

Thu., May 19, 7 p.m., 2011
