Sushi, sake and soba are on the menu at Bridge USA's Bridge the Gap Between East and West Japanese Food Festival, as are ramen, yakitori and okonomiyaki. If you're older than 21, sake experts will teach you how to drink it and store it, and what food goes with it. There will also be a soba-eating contest, a sushi-chef battle, a karate demonstration, a samurai-sword performance and traditional Japanese awaodori and yosakoi dance. Don't miss the oddball spectacle known as nininbaori, a.k.a. “two-person coat,” wherein one person under a coat hunches behind another and sticks his arms out as if he's the person in front and attempts to apply makeup or put food in the other person's mouth and ends up looking like a completely uncoordinated idiot.
