If you're a fan of both excellent barbecue and football, you'll probably already be thinking about watching this Monday's BCS title game at Bludso's Bar-&-Cue on La Brea Blvd., since the place has established itself as a very good place to eat ribs while you watch sports. Well, unless you're planning to watch the game between Florida State and Auburn live, since it's being played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. If so, good luck. Have fun. Eat well.

If you don't have tickets either, here's another reason to head to Hollywood: Bludso's will again be having a free pig dinner to celebrate that other exercise in excellent pigskin. If you'll recall, back in December Kevin Bludso decided to roast a whole hog and serve up the results — for free — in honor of his beloved Cowboys being on Monday Night Football. Apparently a good time was had by all (even though, sadly for Kevin, the Cowboys didn't win that game), so the folks at Bludso's are going to do it again.

“Our free hog dinner a few weeks back was a hit,” Bludso's Noah Galuten reported. “And as we are masochists, I guess we're gonna do it again.” Bless them all. Maybe it's Bludso's way of drowning his sorrows in pork, as the Cowboys didn't make the playoffs this year. (Sorry! Sort of. Full disclosure: Packers fan.)

We're told Bludso doesn't have a favorite in this game (“unless some of those guys become Cowboys all of a sudden”), but is presumably happy enough to have quality football on all those flatscreens. The pig will again be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis, until they run out of it. Bludso's will have their full regular menu, including beef ribs, as well as $3 PBR and $5 Texas margaritas all night.

The doors open at 5 p.m., as they customarily do. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:30.
