If you're a fan of barbecue in this town, you're probably quite familiar with the seats at Bludso's Bar-&-Cue on La Brea Blvd. You're probably also very familiar with the screens above those seats, as Bludso's is an excellent place to catch a game. Kevin Bludso, the man behind both the barbecue here and at his original joint in Compton, made sure of that, as he's a pretty big football fan himself. A Cowboys fan, to be specific.

In honor of tonight's game, in which the Cowboys take on the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, Bludso himself will be in Hollywood smoking a whole 50-pound hog. The results of this beautiful experiment will be served tonight for free, on a first-come, first-served basis. No word on whether you need to be a Cowboys fan to come to the party, but I imagine it would only be polite to pretend to be to the man who's giving you a free barbecue dinner in his own house.

The game starts at 5:30 p.m. this evening, exactly half an hour after Bludso's opens its doors. It will take place at Soldier Field in Chicago, where the weather forecast is for temperatures in the teens with a windchill possibly below zero. 10% chance of snow, but we can always hope. (The Bears are struggling at 6-6 with quarterback Jay Cutler out with an ankle injury; the Cowboys are 7-5, in second place in the NFC East behind the Eagles, of all teams.)

In addition to the free pig, the full regular menu will be available. There will also be $3 PBR and $5 Texas margaritas all night. As Bludso's Noah Galuten described the evening, “A good time will be had by all — unless the Cowboys lose, in which case Kevin will not have a good time.” Here's hoping the Cowboys win, at least tonight.
