To thank the men and women who have bravely served, restaurants across the Southland are offering free meals and discounts to active-duty and retired military personnel with valid I.D. today. Here are eight ways L.A. is saying thank you.

Macaroni Grill Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti

The Palm will offer a 50 percent discount on entrees to all active duty military and veterans from steaks to lobsters and special seasonal dishes like the braised beef short rib with black truffle butter at The Palm’s 21 locations.  “It is a privilege to acknowledge those who have served our country on Veteran’s Day,”  Bruce Bozzi, Jr., fourth-generation Palm family member and executive vice president said in a statement. “I’m very proud of the many veterans we have in our company, and this is a simple way we can say thank you for everything our military has done for our country.”

Grimaldi’s honors the military year-round by offering a daily 15 percent discount to all active duty and retired military personnel. On Veteran’s Day,  increases the discount to 25 percent off the entire purchase.

Acapulco salutes all active and retired military personnel with a complimentary three-item combo — choose from tacos, enchiladas, chicken taquitos, chicken tamale and chile relleno. El Torito will offer the same with choices from tacos, enchiladas, flautas, tamales and chile relleno.

Veteran’s Day menu at CPK

Romano’s Macaroni Grill will offer a free Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti entree at all U.S. locations (dine-in only). All veterans and active military can enjoy this complimentary meal simply by presenting military ID or proof of service. Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and spaghetti includes house-made beef, veal, pork and ricotta meatballs sprinkled with Romano cheese, topped with imported Pomodorina sauce and served over imported, bronze-cut spaghetti.

Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is offering all veterans and active duty personnel 50 percent off their entire meal  up to three guests (for each military veteran or personnel) will also receive 10 percent off their meal.

Aviation-themed restaurant The Proud Bird will offer a complimentary entree of up to $40 all day long to current and former military members.

Finally, California Pizza Kitchen thanks and honors vets and active military with a complimentary meal from the menu, which includes the choice of pizza, pasta or salads and beverage.
