Haché LA has been in soft-open mode for a few weeks now on Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake, but the hours have been dinner-only. Today marks the restaurant's grand opening, and they're marking that milestone with new hours and a burger giveaway.

Haché is owned by Michael Schepers, who also owns Mick's Karma Bar in Irvine. Mick's Karma Bar has become well known for its French-style steak haché burgers — “haché” being the type of burger as well as the restaurant's name — which are made from freshly ground sirloin that's seasoned on the outside, as you would a steak.

The steak haché burgers at Mick's have been so popular that Schepers decided to open an entire restaurant based around them. 

The grand opening will take place from 3-11 p.m., and the first 100 people in the door today will get a free burger. After today, Haché LA's new hours will be noon-10 p.m., Sun.-Wed., and noon-midnight Thurs.-Sat.
