San Diego Pedestrian Accident Left One Woman Dead, Driver Arrested

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 14, 2022) – On Tuesday, authorities arrested 39-year-old Frank Shoaf following a pedestrian crash that left one woman dead.

According to the report, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a Tesla heading westbound on Othello Avenue ran through a red light at Convoy Street.

Afterwards, the Tesla went airborne after hitting a dip in the road and struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk.

Ultimately, the vehicle crashed into a KFC drive-thru where it came to stop.

Eventually, paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the woman to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile authorities arrested the driver, identified as 39-year-old Shoaf, for running a red light and vehicular manslaughter.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
