73-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Fatal Collision on Herndon Avenue

FRESNO, CA (May 26, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, a bicycle crash on Blackstone Avenue killed 73-year-old Frank Romero.

Around 5:30 a.m., police responded to the scene near the intersection of Blackstone and Herndon Avenue.

According to reports, Romero was crossing south on Blackstone Avenue within a marked crosswalk. There, the driver of a silver SUV struck the bicyclist.

Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officers later identified the victim as Romero.

At this time, Fresno Officials are asking anyone with information about the fatal bicycle-auto collision to contact investigators immediately. Once available, further details will be provided.
