Elderly Man Dies in Santa Ynez Motorcycle Accident

SANTA YNEZ, CA (June 29, 2021) – Thursday morning, 70-year-old Frank Butcher was killed in a deadly motorcycle crash on Baseline Avenue.

Officers responded to the incident around 10:50 a.m., near the intersection of Baseline and Linda Vista Drive.

According to reports, Butcher was traveling westbound on Baseline Avenue when the driver of an SUV turned in front of him to enter a private driveway.

Upon impact, the rider was ejected from the bike onto the road. Emergency responders found the motorcyclist suffering from an apparent cardiac arrest.

Medical personnel rendered aid to the victim. However, despite life-saving efforts the man died at the scene.

Later on, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased patient as 70-year-old Frank Butcher, of Santa Barbara. The driver of the SUV remained unharmed.

At this time, the Santa Ynez Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
