48-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision on Country Club Drive
PALM DESERT, CA (August 14, 2023) – Wednesday night, Francisco Rojas was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Barrington Drive. The incident happened around 10:15 p.m., at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Barrington Drive on August 9th. According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian under unknown circumstances. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police. First responders found the pedestrian on the eastbound lanes of Country Club Drive. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Authorities later identified him as 48-year-old Rojas, of Palm Desert. Moreover, Palm Desert police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who fled after the collision.
