28-Year-Old Man Killed in DUI Motorcycle Collision near Orangethorpe Avenue

FULLERTON, CA (June 25, 2024)Francisco Garcia-Vargas was arrested Wednesday night, and Alexander Marce was killed in a motorcycle on Gilbert Street and Orangethorpe Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m., on June 12th.

Reports indicate that a 1999 BMW 323i rear-ended a 2019 Harley-Davidson rider who was stopped at a red light on Orangethorpe Avenue, causing the rider to be ejected onto the road. The BMW dragged the motorcycle until bystanders managed to stop the driver.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the rider, later identified as 28-year-old Marce of Anaheim, dead at the scene due to the severe injuries sustained.

During the investigation and cleanup, police observed the driver struggling with a field sobriety test. Authorities arrested 44-year-old Francisco Garcia-Vargas for driving without a license, felony DUI, and gross vehicular manslaughter due to intoxication.
