32-Year-Old Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run near South Mission Road, Driver Arrested

FALLBROOK, CA (November 16, 2022) – Saturday night, Francisco Esteban Rodas was arrested after a fatal motorcycle crash on La Canada Road.

Dispatchers responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m., near South Mission Road.

Per reports, a westbound black Toyota T-100 pickup-truck pulled into the intersection on La Canada Road. Consequently, it collided with a northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The impact of the collision sent the motorcycle into the southbound lane of South Mission Road where it collided with a gray Model S Tesla. Meanwhile, the pickup-truck driver fled the scene without contacting authorities.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the 32-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene. Fallbrook Officials have not released the identity of the fatal victim at this time.

Following preliminary investigations, authorities arrested 33-year-old Francisco Esteban Rodas, of Fallbrook and booked him into the Vista Detention Facility.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
