Lane Reopens after Traffic Crash on State Route 51

PHOENIX, AZ (January 14, 2022) – Friday, four individuals sustained injuries following a 6-vehicle collision on State Route 51.

A trooper was “hit by debris or a passing car” while responding to a six-vehicle incident on northbound State Route 51 near Highland, as per report.

According to officials with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the trooper did not report any injuries during the encounter.

However, paramedics transported four individuals to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, authorities closed the northbound lanes for many hours before reopening.

At this time, the crash is still under active investigation.
