This weekly showcase long ago cemented its status as L.A.’s most significant venue for flamenco. Now entering its fourth year, the series continues to thrive and may also have helped fuel the increasing presence of flamenco performers at area theaters, restaurants and clubs. Considerable credit goes to Jose Tanaka, Antonio Triana, Paco and Yolanda Arroyo, Juan Talavera and Briseyda Zarate, the most frequent in the rotating series of artistic directors who mix the cream of local talent with notable visiting dancers like Maria Bermudez, La Conja, La Tania and Yaelisa. Zarate, who curates this week’s show, will dance with Evelyn Nacis and Mizuho Sato, accompanied by singer Vicente Griego and guitarists Gabriel Osuna and Kambis Pakandam. Applause also for producers Deborah Lawlor and Ben Bradley, whose behind-the-scenes support ensures that Sundays at their theater are forever flamenco. Fountain Theatre, 5060 Fountain Ave., Hlywd.; Sun., Jan. 14, 8 p.m.; $30. (323) 663-1525 or www.fountaintheatre.com.
