True story: A decade or two ago, while in full New Year's Eve revel-mode on Colorado Boulevard the night before the Rose Parade, I noticed a complete stranger vomiting into my sleeping bag. The moral: Watch the damn parade on teevee while coddling your New Year's Eve hangover the way God intended. If you insist on smelling and seeing the roses for the 121st Rose Parade, themed “A Cut Above,” you'll fight the crowds for a few inches of sidewalk space or pay through the nose for a bleacher spot. Your reward: an up-close view of the incredible floats and majestic, show-offy equestrian units.
