Food trucks, those ubiquitous attractions along Wilshire Boulevard's Museum Row for hipsters and tourists alike, are getting the boot.

The L.A. City Council voted last week to prohibit the trucks from parking on Wilshire between Fairfax Avenue and La Brea Avenue between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Is this a holiday gift to area restaurants?

It's not clear. City records show that a food truck employee from Border Grill, the restaurants co-owned by famed chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, spoke to the council (to no avail, it seems).

If we recall there was some beef a few years back about the trucks taking up parking in the Miracle Mile, with battles to reserve spaces in the area.

Restaurant operators in the area around the L.A. County Museum of Art have argued that the trucks drain their business.

The City Council measure was carried by councilmen Tom LaBonge and Paul Koretz.

The rule applies to trucks more than 22 feet long and/or more than 84 inches high.
