It looks like more than the hipsters at the Echoplex are getting down in Echo Park: Fish are dying off in the community's famed lake, and the Eastsider LA reports the culprit might be herpes.

About 200 carp have turned up dead in Echo Park Lake, and a park caretaker tells the Eastsider that the same strain of herpes that has spread in the Colorado River might be the cause. Don't they know about protection?
