Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Azusa Street

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 21, 2022) – Tuesday night, a female pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run on Garden Highway.

Officers responded to the incident around 10:43 p.m., and located the victim near Azusa Street.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that a woman was struck by a passing vehicle. Upon impact, the driver fled the area without rendering aid to the severely injured woman.

Due to the extent of her condition, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim and the hit-and-run suspect remains unclear.
