Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash near Highway 680

SAN JOSE, CA (May 3, 2022) – Early Saturday night, a female pedestrian was fatally struck in a deadly collision on North Capitol Avenue.

The incident occurred around 6:36 p.m., near the intersection of North Capitol Avenue and Highway 680.

Investigators said a northbound 2012 BMW sport utility vehicle just exited I-680 and merged onto northbound Capital. There, the BMW struck the female pedestrian in an unmarked crosswalk.

In addition, the driver of a 2020 Honda SUV also hit the woman after exiting the freeway behind the BMW. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the two drivers involved stayed and cooperated with the officers. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

The coroner’s office has yet to announce the identity of the deceased female pedestrian. At this time, San Jose Officials continue to investigate further circumstances surrounding the deadly collision on North Capitol Avenue.
