Woman Dead after Single-Vehicle Collision near Interstate 5

STOCKTON, CA (September 7, 2022) – Early Monday morning, a female passenger was killed in a solo-car crash on Country Club Boulevard.

The fatal accident happened just after 4:30 a.m., near the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 on the Country Club off-ramp.

According to investigators, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and traveled down the 40 foot embankment. Amidst the chaos, the passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

Shortly after, the vehicle landed on top of the female passenger. Medics arrived and transported the severely injured woman to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to their injuries.

Following preliminary duties, officers arrested the driver for suspicion of driving under the influence. Investigators say the involved driver remained uninjured.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided about the crash on Country Club Boulevard.
