34-Year-Old Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Collision near Poverty Road

SACRAMENTO, CA (April 29, 2022) – Sunday morning, a female passenger was pronounced dead after a single-car accident on State Route 160.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., just north of Poverty Road. Authorities described the involved vehicle as a Ford F-150.

Following preliminary investigations, the driver of the Ford revealed that he swerved in attempt to avoid striking an animal in the road. As a result, the vehicle traveled down a nearby embankment and hit a tree.

Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced the 34-year-old female passenger dead. However, the driver remained uninjured.

Moreover, California Highway Patrol officers say the involved driver was not under the influence at the time of the fatal crash.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. However, an active investigation into the deadly accident on State Route 160 is still currently underway.
