Woman Killed in Fatal Bicycle Accident near South Union Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 10, 2022) – Early Monday morning, a female bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run on East White Lane.

The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m., near the intersection of East White Lane and South Union Avenue. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

According to officers, a vehicle that was traveling behind the southbound bicyclist rear-ended her in the No.2 lane. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured woman.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not released her name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, emergency crews closed the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an investigation into the hit-and-run on East White Lane is still underway.
