Streaming PickWomen’s History Month isn’t just about celebrating our accomplishments. For many of us, it’s about taking at hard look at how the disparity in gender roles manifests in dark ways– at work and at home. Which makes the new non-fiction read, “A Wretch Like Me: The Shocking and Beautiful Story of Judy Ray Herzog” particularly relevant right now. Heidi Cuda, best known for her work at the Los Angeles Times, and co-author Marcia Fritz, have a new publishing imprint and Wretch, the first title just released, is already making waves on Amazon, currently ranking #1 in five categories: Depression, Co-dependency, Personality Disorders, Sexual Abuse, and Domestic Partner Abuse. The imprint, Coral Winds Media, has a strong start to say the least when it comes to exploring women’s issues and Cuda’s writing continues to convey her subjects in relatable and resonant ways, even when the material isn’t so easy to digest. This Friday, the authors host a virtual event featuring Judy Ray Herzog herself reading from the book, along with a panel discussion featuring esteemed British domestic abuse and sexual violence activist Anna MacGregor of Safer Spaces chatting with the three women. MacGregor is also a survivor of domestic abuse and her insights have helped many women identify and leave abusive relationships. Coral Winds will split the revenue on all sales of the book from March 25-27 with Safer Spaces.

Event is Fri., March 25, 2 p.m. To attend online, please RSVP to info@coralwindsmedia.com with Zoom name/handle and an email address.  Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89240655614?pwd=T0Jpd1VpWXBrVy9FemFPZXRRYzZBdz09. Meeting ID: 892 4065 5614. Passcode: ANGEL
