40-Year-Old Man Dies in Multi-Car Crash in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (July 20, 2021) – Saturday on July 10, 40-year-old Felipe Balero, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run accident on Shields Avenue.

The crash took place just before midnight between Channing Way and West Avenue. Dispatchers arrived shortly after.

According to reports, Balero was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by multiple vehicles while carrying several items.

Police say a total of four vehicles struck the man who was believed to be homeless. The first three vehicles failed to stop; however, the fourth driver stopped and called 911.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced Balero dead at the scene. Additionally, witnesses told police that the driver of a white pickup-truck was the first to strike the victim. The driver allegedly slowed down and then continued to flee.
