After much anticipation, Roadhouse LA, brought to you by Umami Burger's Adam Fleischman and pitmaster Robbie Richter, is now serving up “international barbecue”  at the Hollywood Improv. Meanwhile, downtowners no longer have to make the trek to Culver City to experience City Tavern's local craft beers. And in more opening news, Whiz brought cheesesteak sandwiches to K-town, and DeSano Pizza Bakery set up shop in East L.A.

Sadly, chef Stefano De Lorenzo said arrivederci, closing his stately Italian restaurant La Botte in Santa Monica, while California Crisp shuttered after 21 years of occupying the first floor of the Ketchum Downtown YMCA.  Also closing this month is Twins Sliders on Fairfax. The good news is that those in need of a good old-fashioned malt and cheesy shoestring fries can still frequent the original Twins Sliders in Hollywood.  Others to add to the recently departed list are Roadside Eats and Roy's downtown.  ]
