One Killed in Train Collision on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Track

BUENA PARK, CA (March 4, 2021) – Early Tuesday morning, one person was killed in a train accident on Beach Boulevard and Stage Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene just before 12:30 a.m., on March 2. Orange County Firefighters located the victim trapped between two freight trains that had collided.

The events leading up to the deadly incident remain unclear. However, the National Transportation Safety Board later confirmed that the victim was a BNSF Railway employee.

In addition, officers say the accident occurred within yard operations. The surrounding area on Beach Boulevard was closed during preliminary duties, but has since reopened.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is underway. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity. Although, more information will be released once available.
