1 Killed in Deadly Auto Collision near Lerdo Highway in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 10, 2021) – Friday night, one unidentified person was killed in a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 99.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., just south of Lerdo Highway. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

California Highway Patrols says the driver of a Nissan pickup-truck crashed into a parked semi-truck on the side of the road. Due to the impact, the Nissan driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, Bakersfield officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash. The identity of the deceased victim remains unavailable, pending notification on their next of kin.
