Roadway Shutdown after a Fatal Crash on 710 Freeway

LONG BEACH, CA (September 22, 2021) – On Monday morning, the southbound 710 Freeway in Long Beach was temporarily closed due to a fatal crash.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Anaheim Street at 710 Freeway, September 20.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the events that led to the fatal crash are still unknown, however, officials believed that a vehicle struck and killed one person.

At this time, authorities withheld the identities of all parties involved.

Moreover, CHP said commuters experienced real traffic delays as a result of the freeway closure, but all lanes were later reopened.

Authorities do not currently believe that drugs or alcohol were factors. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
