The resident of a Southern California home called it a case of “fatal attraction.”

He told reporters that a woman he briefly dated recently had become obsessed with him and was even once caught prowling on his roof. This time around, the Thousand Oaks resident said, the woman he met online got stuck in his chimney.

It took Ventura County Fire Department rescuers quite some time to get Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa out. They had to dismantle part of the chimney and used soap to free the 28-year-old, authorities said.

But up she came.

Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Figueroa on suspicion of illegal entry and providing false information to police, according to a sheriff's statement:

The investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department determined that Figueroa climbed into the chimney from the roof to illegally enter the home.
