Accident along Interstate 19 Left One Fatality

TUCSON, AZ (June 20, 2022) – A fatal accident on Interstate 19 prompted road closures and traffic backups over the weekend.

The incident occurred on June 18th on the southbound I-19 near Tubac, according to initial reports.

Authorities have stated that the events leading up to the crash are unknown but did result in one fatality. At this time, officials have not released information about the vehicles and or involved parties.

Furthermore, the crash temporarily closed the area as emergency crews cleared the roadway, but has since reopened around 7:30 p.m.

An active investigation is still underway, Tucson Officials will release additional information once available.
