Women’s rights have been a longstanding issue that, despite the changes over the decades, remain completely restrained. Shero Carroll, a model, fashion influencer, and women’s rights activist, has been working hard to advance her movement, Burning the Bras, in response to the news of women getting detained at Myrtle Beach for wearing a thong bikini. As the battle for women’s rights have always been an uphill battle, Shero partnered with Change.org to headline a petition on the beach wear and bikini regulations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Their collaboration led to media attention.

Apart from fighting for women’s rights as an activist, Shero Carroll works as a successful model and innovative fashion influencer. In her career, she has reached great heights working with many major fashion labels, including Forever 21, Alo, Pretty Little Thing, Demode Studios x Billie Eilish, and MOON x Kendall Jenner. Shero was also one of the first models to represent Justin Bieber’s clothing brand, Drew House, and has been featured in Playboy New Zealand’s Instagram page. Her involvement in fashion has even earned her a shoutout that puts her in the same level of high profile celebrities like Irina Shayk and Kate Moss.

Due to her long and illustrious career in the fashion world, Shero was inspired to take a proactive role in the industry by launching a fashion app called Sysmic. The app provides users a safe and secure way to buy and sell verified luxury goods at the lowest price in the market.

“Sysmic makes luxury and designer goods more affordable and more available than ever before,” she said. “Our prices are the lowest the market has ever seen, and our variety the largest. As someone who loves designer fashion, I realized buying used designer goods is still expensive for a lot of people, so I wanted to create a solution for this problem.”

Shero’s app Sysmic is the first fashion app in the digital space that verifies the authenticity of a luxury item before the user can list the item to buy or sell on the platform. The app has also incorporated an automated system for price control that scans the market for the item’s current value and undercuts the going rate to guarantee the lowest prices available on the market, keeping users from price gouging or listing fake designer goods on the platform. Sysmic’s launch quickly garnered media attention, and she was recognized by Yahoo! Finance as one of the top 20 entrepreneurs to follow in 2020 amid the global pandemic.
