Fanatics! A great show tonight! In both hours we salute the mighty Ruts and acknowledge the passing of the band's legendary front man Malcolm Owen, who passed away on this day in the year of 1980 at the age of twenty-six. So, tonight, we begin each block of hour one with a Ruts song and we end the evening with my favorite Ruts song, “It Was Cold.”

Look! New Melvins! New Japandroids! New Terakaft! Jay Reatard covering the Adverts! Leadbelly using the “n-word”! It's all here, Fanatics. A scoop of every flavor in the shop.

In our second hour, smash reality into pieces with Black Sabbath, stretch our minds with the Acid Mothers Temple, say yes to brain damage with the Afflicted and realize our inner cool with Miles. Valet, a band I don't know much about but after hearing the track we are playing tonight, I became a fan immediately and so, another addition to our play list. Exceptor! It's been awhile. We finish with a great Ruts track and say goodnight.

I do hope that you get your Ruts records out this weekend and play them loud. Thanks to John Peel, the band were given a chance to record new songs for the BBC and by doing so, give us Fanatics a glimpse of what the 2nd Ruts album might have been like. “West One (Shine On Me),” “Demolition Dancing,” “Secret Soldiers”–it would have been an amazing album. Well, listen to what you've got, feel luck you have it and wonder what could have been.

It's a great night of music and the Big Three will be intact. Get ready to go live and STAY FANATIC!!! –Henry
