Catch One

The Echo
1822 Sunset Blvd., Echo Park?, Sun., Jan. 12, 10 p.m.-2 a.m.

After New Year's Eve, parties can be slim pickings. Not this week! Great art shows and slammin' rock gigs are going down all over town. And the club world is particularly blessed, with two awesome events.

The Das Bunker Winter White Party is always an amazing bash, but with the announcement that the club will be closing later this month, Friday's event at Catch One is a must. Believe it or not, every goth girl/industrial head has a white item in that mound of black, if only for irony's sake, and it all comes out tonight. Admission is free before 10:30 p.m. if you're dressed in all white and $5 if you're wearing “at least one visible item” of the snowy shade. Too cool for white? It'll cost you $10.

Also, on Sunday, Part Time Punks throws down one of its annual favorite themes, Factory Records Night, at the Echo. Nobody pays tribute to the Manchester post-punk music scene better, mates! Adding to the novel night: Boy Division, a Joy Division cover band that commands complete control onstage. DJ Michael Stock, as always, controls the DJ booth.
