Head-On DUI Collision on Road 92 Kills Fabian Castellanos

TULARE, CA (July 30, 2021) – 19-year-old Fabian Castellanos lost his life Saturday night in a tragic DUI crash on Road 92.

The fatal accident happened around 10:45 p.m., July 24, on Road 92 and Avenue 260.

According to the CHP, Jerry Avila, 21, of Tulare, was driving northbound on Road 92 when he failed to navigate the turn near Road 92 and Avenue 260.

The car then allegedly drifted into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with Castellanos’ pickup truck.

As a result of the collision, Castellanos was thrown from his vehicle. Responding officers pronounced him dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in Avila’s car was seriously injured in the crash. Her condition, according to officials, is unknown at this time.

Officers eventually arrested and booked him into jail on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter.

Furthermore, the family and friends of Castellanos set up a GoFundMe account to assist his family during this difficult time.
