Wrong-way Crash on Talmage Road Kills One, Injures Two

UKIAH, CA (January 3, 2022) – Authorities arrested Ezequiel Ceja Guzman after a suspected DUI crash on Talmage Road killed one man and injured three.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred before 6:43 p.m. of December 21st just east of Hastings Road.

Based on initial investigation, CHP said 38-year-old Phillip Harrison of Potter Valley was driving his 2019 Ford Fusion westbound on Talmage Road when he crossed paths with 35-year-old Guzman of Ukiah driving a 2001 Chevy Malibu with two passengers.

For some unknown reason, Guzman on his Chevy went across the opposite lane and directly in the way of Harrison’s Ford and crashed against it.

The impact caused major damage into the Chevy’s right side passenger compartment, killing the seated passenger.

His identity remain withheld in reports ending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, Guzman and his other passenger, Jesus Nava-Sandoval, 32, were hospitalized for moderate injuries.

The driver of the Ford that Guzman hit also suffered major injuries.

CHP arrested Guzman  following the crash on suspicion of driving under influence.
