UPDATE: New info on a Sumsun full-length after the jump.

It's true — Los Angeles isn't actually the only place in the country making fascinating electronic music right now.

But even for up-and-comers like West Palm Beach, Florida's Sumsun, when a home-away-from-home is needed, L.A. is the place.

Like local beat scene young bucks Baths and Shlohmo, Judson Rogers' sound bridges the difference between experimental electronics and the chillwave thing, so it makes sense that he'd be collaborating with the downtown-based, Low End Theory-affiliated Alpha Pup Records crew.

When we first introduced you to Alpha Pup subsidiary Leaving Records, we shared music from the imprint's first signing, Oscar McClure.

Then we shared this excellent earworm from Sumsun, featuring vocalist Beverly Russell.

Now, thanks to Compost Remixes, an album-length reworking of McClure's Compost out tomorrow, Sumsun meets McClure over two minutes of roiling beat music — the former's must-have remix of the latter's “Leaves.”

Other guests on the remix collection include Baths, Asura, Matthewdavid, Teebs and Jonwayne — ten tracks and ten remixers, when all's said and done.

Also highly worthy of your time is Sumsun's Super Spacey Sunburnt Summer mixtape, a continuous thread of hazy and dazed, crunchy psychedelia featuring 21 tracks you've probably never heard, but won't be able to stop listening to any time soon.

UPDATE: We've received word (from Judson Rogers himself) that a Sumsun full-length called Samo Milagro is due out in the next couple of months on Leaving Records. The domestic release will be cassette and digital, while Japan's Moamoo/Arts Union will be issuing a CD shortly thereafter.
