On Friday, influential London electronic music label Ninja Tune gives L.A. one of the jazzier members of their roster: Bonobo. The downbeat provocateur has assembled a live band for a show at the Music Box Theater and will feature the smoky vocal atmospherica of Andreya Triana. The South East London vocalist collaborated with L.A.'s beat master Flying Lotus during her stint at Red Bull Music Academy in Australia and the resulting track, “Tea Leaf Dancers,” earned the attention of Bonobo back in the day. On Friday, they share the stage for a performance sure to be nothing less than classy. Local beatrix Tokimonsta opens the night, displaying her bass-quaking beats, which glean the deep grooves absorbed from Nina Tune's catalog and sharpened at L.A.'s bastion of avant-electronics, Low End Theory. The continuous dialogue between L.A. and London's electronic music communities goes on and on and on.
