A night of short plays and music to benefit Lyric Hyperion
PLAYLIST, a night of short plays by up-and-coming writers and a featured musical guest will take place Saturday, February 29, at the Lyric Hyperion, with two shows: 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The event, which started in the New York theater scene as a popular biannual tradition, has featured actors Ali Ahn (The Path) Jon Bass (Miracle Workers), Catherine Curtin (Orange is the New Black) Lucy Devito (Deadbeat), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Rhea Perlman (Cheers) and Maureen Sebastian (Revolution). Writers have included Will Arbery (Heroes of the Fourth Turning at Playwrights Horizons) Chiara Atik (Women, Five Times in One Night), Clare Barron (2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist for Dance Nation), Olivia Dufault (Legion, Preacher) and Leah Nanako Winkler (winner of 2018 Yale Drama Series for God Said This).
“We showcase TV and Film writers with playwriting backgrounds,” says co-producer Heather Robb. “We love supporting the arts and we’re heartened to know how popular this event has become.”
