A horror comedy night of performances and music benefiting Immigrant Families Together.
Calling all horror lovers! PLAYLIST, a night of short plays by up-and-coming writers and a featured musical guest will take place Friday, Oct. 4th at the Lyric Hyperion, with two shows: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. The night is Halloween themed and all proceeds from both shows go to Immigrant Families Together, a foundation dedicated to reuniting and supporting families separated at the US/Mexico border. https://immigrantfamiliestogether.com/
The event, which started in the New York theatre scene as a popular biannual tradition, has featured actors Ali Ahn (The Path) Jon Bass (Miracle Workers), Catherine Curtin (Orange is the New Black) Lucy Devito (Deadbeat), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Rhea Perlman (Cheers) and Maureen Sebastian (Revolution). Writers have included Will Arbery (Heroes of the Fourth Turning at Playwrights Horizons) Chiara Atik (Women, Five Times in One Night), Clare Barron (2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist for Dance Nation), Olivia Dufault (Legion, Preacher) and Leah Nanako Winkler (winner of 2018 Yale Drama Series for God Said This).
“We showcase TV and Film writers with playwriting backgrounds,” says co-producer Heather Robb. “This particular Playlist event is going to be wildly comedic and blood curdling and yes, there will be a lot of fake blood.”
Playlist at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Café, 2106 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles. (cross street, Lyric Ave). Oct. 4th, 7:30pm and 9:30pm.
