LACO’s new music director, Jaime Martín, conducts  Ravel’s Le tombeau de Couperin, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite, and Prokofiev’s First Symphony. Double bassist David Grossman is featured on the West Coast premiere of Dark With Excessive Bright for Double Bass and Strings by inventive composer Missy Mazzoli, who, among other things, created the enigmatic and affecting opera Song From the Uproar.
