rtes Vocales presents a festive celebration of Halloween with music to send shivers up your spine!
The program will include excerpts from Carmina Burana, the Duruflé Requiem, the Schnittke Requiem, the Witches’ Chorus from Verdi’s Macbeth, the Ballad of Sweeney Todd, and more. There will be guest performances by the Young Men’s Ensemble of Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, guest percussionsts, and organist Scott Van Ornum on the mighty Skinner organ (perhaps the largest musical instrument existing in any church in the world today). The concert will be conducted by Artistic Director, Dr. Steven Kronauer.
Artes Vocales is an auditioned community chorus whose mission is to bring great choral music to Los Angeles area communities, to build a community of singers, provide rigorous vocal training, and provide career-enhancing opportunities to gifted musicians and composers.
