All Skate for Alzheimer’s with skating, music, live entertainment and more at Grand Park
“All Skate for Alzheimer’s,” Caring for the Caregiver, the first-ever outdoor Roller Skate Rink in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at Grand Park, is a three-day African American Alzheimer’s education and awareness event honoring the heroic efforts of Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregivers. This family fun event is September 20-22 with skating, music, live entertainment, and caregiver resources. All ages festivities with DJs, giant brain games, special guests, and much more are Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Evenings, adults can hit the rink for DJ-driven skate nights on Friday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with live performances by LA’s hottest Skate DJs and Skate Teams, including an appearance by HBO’s United Skates star Phelicia Wright. This event is free with roller skate rentals available at $5 per session. A special VIP section for Friday’s opening night with tickets at $125 will benefit the Grand Park Foundation. “All Skate for Alzheimer’s” is presented by the Grand Park Foundation and co-sponsored by Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.
