Scary Movie. The Melrose Rooftop Theater screens the 2000 Wayans brothers comedy, the first in the franchise, which spoofs the 1990s raunchy teen and horror genre, namely Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, with Titanic, The Matrix, The Sixth Sense and The Blair Witch Project thrown in for extra laughs. The flimsy plot — no, you don't care — follows a masked slasher who kills a bunch of high school kids, who're portrayed by actors in their 20s and 30s, including a brunette Anna Faris. There's plenty of jiggling breast implants and pot and fart gags, not to mention a man's head getting impaled by a penis. But it's perhaps the only film that includes a Prince impersonator, Laverne & Shirley's Squiggy and SNL's Cheri Oteri playing a reporter named Gail Hailstorm. Forget the tricks and treat yourself to a preshow dinner prepared by E.P. & L.P., located underneath the theater.
