2018 marks the 15th anniversary of Great Lake Swimmers. Called “a national treasure” by The CBC, the music of Great Lake Swimmers has taken them around the world, sharing a sound that is at once familiar and distinct, using the tools of folk music as the starting point to delve deeper. Over seven albums, multiple EPs, live broadcasts, and reissues, the Toronto-based project led by singer-songwriter Tony Dekker has established itself as a beloved indie folk act in their native Canada and beyond. Most recently, Noisey featured the video for "Alone But Not Alone" and introduced their new album The Waves, The Wake. The full album dropped on August 17th, where you can expect emotion, stomp-and-holler soul, with the whimsy of 60s nostalgia. Great Lake Swimmers have come a long way, still have quite a journey to go, and want everyone to join them on the adventures along the way.
