Born into a musical family, Francesca Caccini achieved international acclaim at a young age for her skills in performance and composition. This concert celebrates the 400th anniversary of her Primo libro delle Musiche (1618), a collection of sacred and secular works for voice and continuo.

FEATURING: Paulina Francisco and Kiley Hazelton (soprani), Argenta Walther (mezzo-soprano), Joel Nesvadba (bass), Ashley Salinas (violin and viola), Andrew Justice (viola), Marylin Winkle (viola da gamba), Alejandro Acosta (theorbo), Marco Teruel (baroque guitar), and Arthur Omura (harpsichord).

L.A. Camerata strives to tell the stories of women and "others" silenced throughout history. Our performances highlight works by early-modern women from across the world. Inspired by the original renaissance camerati—philosophical societies that debated aesthetics in the arts and society—we seek to blur the boundaries between music and drama, resurrecting live voices on stage.
