35-Year-Old Los Angeles Woman Killed in Head-On Collision near Nash Street

EL SEGUNDO, CA (April 26, 2022) – Saturday morning, a wrong-way crash on 105 Freeway left 35-year-old Evelyn Linares dead.

The collision happened on the westbound lanes of the freeway, just east of Nash Street. Emergency crews responded around 1:13 a.m.

Per reports, Linares was driving a silver 2015 Toyota Camry in the eastbound No. 1 lane. For reasons unknown, she drifted into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a westbound black 2017 Toyota Prius.

Due to the extent of her condition, paramedics pronounced Linares dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Prius driver, described as a 35-year-old Manhattan Beach man, sustained major injuries and was transported to Harbor UCLA Medical Center for treatment.

At this time, authorities are still currently working to identify the reason behind the wrong-way crash. Additionally, a large portion of the roadway was temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
