Two Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Jack Rabbit Trail

BEAUMONT, CA (April 26, 2022) – Saturday morning, Eva Lopez Gonzalez and Thomas Antral were killed in a wrong-way crash on State Route 60.

The deadly collision happened around 3:37 a.m., near Jack Rabbit Trail. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, 28-year-old Gonzalez was driving a Hyundai Sonata east in the westbound lanes of the highway at about 90 mph. As a result, Gonzalez collided head-on with a Chevy Malibu driven by 49-year-old Antral, of Pasadena.

Due to the impact of the collision, Antral’s passenger, a 40-year-old man from Pico Rivera sustained serious injuries. The fourth person received minor injuries but declined medical transport.

Meanwhile, medical personnel pronounced Gonzalez and Antral dead at the scene.

At this time, Beaumont Officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the wrong-way crash.
